Why Choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon?

It may be confusing if you are looking to find the best surgeon to perform your procedure, as there can be a wide range of accreditations and certifications that represent certain benchmarks of education and experience in the field. However, The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) is the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) to certify surgeons in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

In order to become certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a physician must:

  • Have graduated from an accredited Medical School
  • Completed at least 5 years of surgical training following medical school, with a minimum of 2 years of plastic surgery residency training
  • Pass comprehensive oral and written exams

Dr. Nitta is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with the ABPS. In addition, she also has her board certification in Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery, providing her with additional knowledge and expertise to apply to her practice.

How Can I be Sure Dr. Nitta Will Know What I Want?

Dr. Nitta takes time with her consultations to get to know her patients and understand what they are seeking from surgery.

She knows how to listen to your concerns, as well as ask the right questions to explore your needs and options. Dr. Nitta then draws on her years of surgical experience and aesthetics to choose the right procedure and to counsel her patients as to what can realistically be achieved.

In addition, she encourages her clients to relay their ideas visually by bringing in pictures of people who have their desired look, and more importantly, of people who don’t. This is especially important in breast augmentation, as only the patient knows what she feels is too small or too big.

There is no time limit for consultation. Because this is a boutique practice, you may come in as many times as you wish to discuss your procedure. She feels you should always choose a surgeon you can trust and who will not disappoint you.

Dr. Nitta strives to be that doctor for each of her patients.

Is the Surgery Center Safe?

Dr. Nitta performs most of her surgeries at the Newport Beach Surgery Center.

It is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities and is run in accordance with the highest standards in the nation for equipment, operating safety, personnel, and physicians. All of the Anesthesiologists are Board-Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Performing her surgical procedures here ensures that all of Dr. Nitta’s patients receive the highest levels of care, safety, and comfort available.

Am I Too Old For Surgery?

Age is only a number!

Health is the limiting factor in determining if surgery is a good fit. If you are active and fit at age seventy you may be a better candidate then an unhealthy thirty year old. Dr. Nitta ensures all patients are healthy enough for surgery prior to any procedures, and is happy to discuss your options and concerns during consultation.

Am I Old Enough For Breast Surgery?

A patient must be fully developed before any cosmetic breast procedure.

In general this would be at the age 18. Some of Dr. Nitta’s patients were born where one breast did not develop and she was able to operate on them earlier. Newer developments in reconstruction allow surgery on these individuals before full development, however a second procedure is necessary when the patient is fully developed.

Why Doesn’t Dr. Nitta Have Photos of Identifiable Faces on Her Website?

Dr. Nitta is fiercely protective of her patient’s privacy.

With the development of facial recognition software, cloud networking, and social media, all images of facial feature on the web are easily identifiable and widely spread, creating a digital footprint that a patient may not want in five or ten years. Dr. Nitta is highly experienced with computers and the power of the internet and has chosen not to expose any photos with identifiable marking online, as a matter of taste and respect for her patients.

Dr. Nitta invites those interested to visit our office for a complimentary consultation where she would be happy to share Pre and Post-Op photos of all procedures, including facial procedures, in person.

Will My Medical Insurance Cover My Procedure?

In most cases, medical insurance will not cover cosmetic plastic surgery procedures as these procedures are considered optional and not medically necessary.

There are specific instances, such as a rhinoplasty to repair a fractured nose, that may be covered. Our office will be happy to assist you in providing information to your insurance company to determine if your procedure is covered.

Are There Any Financing Options Available?

Dr. Nitta accepts all major credit cards including MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

In addition, financing options are available through Alphaeon Credit and CareCredit.

Please call our office or ask during consultation to explore which financing option is best for you.
