Sculptra® Aesthetic is a new type of facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to replace lost collagen in the skin. The dermal filler helps correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that appear with aging. The main ingredient is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that has been used by physicians for decades.
Sculptra® is a collagen stimulator, helping the body to produce collagen that has been lost with age. Unlike other fillers, it is injected into the deep dermis. It takes about 7 weeks to see the full effect and the results last for up to 2 years. Most patients will require 2-3 vials, given over a course of several months, to achieve the optimal results. Patients who are healthy, with a normal immune system, are candidates for this.
